The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has officially released the notification for the 72nd Combined Preliminary Competitive Examination (CCE) 2026 on 07 May 2026, announcing 1,186 vacancies for prestigious posts like SDM, DSP, Assistant Commissioner of State Tax, Revenue Officer, BDPO, CDPO, FAO, Sub-Divisional Protection Officer, and many more. Age relaxation as per Bihar Government rules:

• Divyangjan (PwBD): +10 years
• Ex-Servicemen: +3 years + service period
• Bihar Government Employees: +5 years + 5 attempts

⚠️ Negative Marking Rules:

• Wrong answer = 1/3 mark deducted
• Unanswered question (no option selected) = 1/3 mark deducted
• Selecting option (E) = No negative marking for that question

Pay Scale: As per 7th Pay Commission – Pay Level-6 to Level-9 (₹35,400 – ₹1,12,400 approx.)

Job Profile:

• SDM: Sub-divisional administration, law & order, revenue matters, disaster management.
• DSP: Police administration, crime control, investigation supervision, law enforcement.
• Revenue Officer: Land records, rent collection, dispute resolution, revenue court proceedings.
• BDPO: Block-level development planning, implementation of government schemes, panchayat coordination.

1. Complete OTR (One Time Registration) first
   Visit https://bpsconline.bihar.gov.in → Click “New User Registration” → Fill basic details → Generate OTR ID & Password.
   Note: OTR is mandatory. One OTR for all BPSC exams.
2. Login to Application Portal
   Use your OTR credentials to login.
3. Select Advertisement
   Click on “New Application” → Select “72nd Combined Preliminary Examination 2026”
4. Fill Application Form
   Enter personal details, educational qualification, category, post preference, optional subject, etc. carefully.
5. Upload Required Documents (Scanned copies – PDF format, max 100 KB)
   • Photograph (white/light background)
   • Signature
   • Left thumb impression
   • Graduation degree/provisional certificate
   • Caste/Creamy Layer/EWS/Domicile certificate (as applicable)
6. Pay Application Fee
   Click “Pay Fee” → Select online payment mode → Pay ₹100 per exam.
7. Final Submission
   Preview all details → Click “Submit Application” → Download confirmation page PDF.
8. Take Printout
   Keep a hard copy for future reference.

• Reservation benefits are ONLY for original residents of Bihar. Outside candidates can apply but only in UR category.
• OTR registration is mandatory. Multiple OTR profiles will lead to rejection.
• No hard copy of the application needs to be sent to BPSC office.
• All certificates must be issued BEFORE the last date (31 May 2026).
• Married women claiming reservation must submit caste certificate in father’s name, not husband’s name.
• BC/EBC candidates must submit NON-Creamy Layer certificate.
• EWS certificate must be in Form-1 as per Bihar Government Notification No. 2622/2019.

For Written Exams:

• Prelims: Solve 10+ previous year question papers. Practice with 5-option MCQ format and negative marking.
• Mains GS: Read NCERTs (6th to 12th) + Bihar specific books (Bihar Economy, Bihar History).
• Essay: Practice 3 essays per week on current affairs, social issues, and philosophical topics.
• Optional Subject: Choose a subject you are comfortable with. Refer to standard university textbooks.
